Personal Statement:"If the children are untaught, their ignorance and vices will in future life cost us much dearer in their consequences than it would have done in their correction by a good education.” ~Thomas JeffersonI believe that we, as citizens of the United States, can better our society through the education of our children and young adults. I want to encourage academic excellence for this reason. I will challenge my pupils to learn with the passion I have for learning. I was home schooled through high school and then began going to Shasta College my Junior year. I graduated with my A.A degree from there when I was 18. I have recently started taking science classes to pursue a nursing degree. I have found that the sciences and mathematics are my best subjects. I am going to continue to pursue this avenue of my education. While taking some of these science courses I worked in a preschool while taking some required courses to be a preschool teacher. I enjoy working with children and want to continue to learn how to teach them. Education gives us a future we can be proud of and I want to bestow confidence in the ones that I tutor by teaching them in a fun, applicable way. I will be wiling to learn whatever strategy needed to teach the information needed to succeed.
